Zendo doesn't speak DALI directly. Home Assistant bridges the bus, and Zendo reads what it exposes.
Nothing about your installation changes. The short addresses, the groups and the scenes you commissioned all stay exactly where they are.
How DALI connects to Zendo
Through a gateway on your network. Home Assistant has built-in support for Lunatone and Sunricher gateways.
That's the only connection Zendo makes. Everything works through it.
Add each one to the floorplan, in the room it's actually in.
Dimming, colour temperature, sensors.
DALI fittings land on the floorplan as what they are: dimmable lights, tunable white and colour. The sensors on the bus come across too, so occupancy and light level read the same way as anything else.
The groups and scenes from commissioning still work. Put the ones you use every day behind a Shortcut, and they are one tap from the floorplan.
Buildings, not just houses.
DALI turns up in offices, hotels and larger properties, which is where a floorplan earns its keep. A visual layout of the building beats a list of a thousand fittings.
Add shortcuts on the floorplan for the things that happen every day. Open Up brings the lights up in the common areas and sets the corridors for daytime. Close Down takes them back down at night.
Device Sharing decides who sees what, so the front desk gets the lobby and not the whole building.
