A security system, without buying a security system

You already own the sensors. Zendo puts them all on one screen.

The parts are already in the house.

If you run Home Assistant or Homey, you've probably bought most of a security system already, one piece at a time. Motion sensors for the hallway lights. A contact sensor on the back door. A camera at the front. A smoke alarm.

What's missing isn't hardware. It's one screen that shows all of it at once, on a floorplan of your home.

Four features, one screen.

Cameras. A snapshot of each one, and a live stream in a tap.

Presence and contact sensors. Where movement has been detected, and which doors and windows are open.

Activity. What's just happened, grouped by room and floor. Tap a room for its full history.

Locks, garage doors and gates. Check everything's locked, and lock whatever isn't.

The alarm goes off at 3am.

Open Activity & Cameras. It shows where it started, and how movement has travelled since.

That's usually enough to tell a pet from a real problem, without walking down the stairs to find out.

What this isn't.

Zendo is not an alarm system and not a monitoring service. Nobody is watching on your behalf, and there's no keypad.

Arming and disarming stays in Home Assistant or Homey, though a Shortcut can trigger either from the floorplan.

For smoke, CO, gas and water, keep your dedicated alarms. They work whether or not your phone does.

Questions people ask first

Only what you're missing. Zendo shows whatever your system can already see, so if the sensors are in place there's nothing else to buy.

Yes. Cameras are set one at a time, and the whole activity feed can be hidden from anyone you choose. If someone can see neither, the button disappears for them.

No. Zendo shows live streams and snapshots. Recording and storage stay wherever you already handle them, such as UniFi Protect, Frigate, Scrypted or another NVR.
