Your Zigbee devices, on the floorplan

Zendo works with Zigbee. Home Assistant or Homey pairs your devices, and Zendo lays them out where they actually are.

Your coordinator does the pairing.

Zendo isn't a Zigbee coordinator and never joins your mesh. Whatever you already run does that: Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, a Hue Bridge, or the radio built into Homey.

Zendo reads what Home Assistant or Homey exposes. If your system can see the device, Zendo can put it on the floorplan.

Running Philips Hue? There's more detail on that setup.

How Zigbee connects to Zendo

1
Your coordinator connects to Home Assistant or Homey

Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, a Hue Bridge, or Homey's own radio. Zendo doesn't change it.

2
Zendo talks to Home Assistant or Homey

That's the only connection Zendo makes. Everything works through it.

Your devices show up in Zendo

Add each one to the floorplan, in the room it's actually in.

Lights, plugs, blinds, sensors.

Zigbee devices land on the floorplan as whatever they actually are.

Lights go in the room they light, with one room accessory that controls all of them at once. Plugs and relays go where the thing they switch actually sits. Blinds go next to the window they cover.

Motion, presence, door and window sensors show up in Security & Safety mode and feed the activity feed, so you can see which rooms are occupied and which windows are open.

Smoke, CO, gas and water leak sensors show an alert the moment one is triggered.

Batteries are the part people forget.

Most Zigbee sensors run on coin cells, and a dead one fails quietly. A door sensor that stopped reporting three weeks ago looks exactly like a door that hasn't opened.

The Batteries list shows every battery-powered accessory with the worst first, and the menu button carries a badge when something is running low.

Offline Accessories does the same for anything that has stopped responding, with detail on each one to help you work out why.
